The everyday life of law enforcement officers, as well as that of their spouses and family, can prove exhausting to even the strongest among us. Beyond the Badge understands the unique challenges of daily life in a law enforcement family and provides support and assistance, as well as an opportunity for law enforcement families to connect with each other.
Education
Marriage, parenting, and life stressors can be difficult to bear in normal circumstances but law enforcement adds an additional layer to relationships. Beyond the Badge provides classes to build and benefit law enforcement relationships and to grow and support the officers.
Support
Department support of their members is an important tool for retention and morale. This support may be providing meals at briefings or even delivering gifts to children whose parents are working in law enforcement capacities on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Critical Incident Support
While assisting and supporting many in our law enforcement family who have experienced traumatic, and often life-changing incidents, Beyond the Badge develops and distributes Critical Incident Bags. The Critical Incident Bags include necessities that are often overlooked such as cell phone chargers, socks, toiletries, blankets, notebooks, and many other items needed during a hospital stay. Officers and families also need additional care during traumatic critical incidents. Beyond the Badge can provide opportunities for the department to grieve and heal together in addition to the direct families involved.
